Trivets

Trivet is usually used in dining tables between a serving dish or bowl to protect the table from heat damage. Trivet is actually a tripod stand with with short feet that is placed under a hot dish on a table. However, there are some trivets with four short feet. Some trivets are provided with a receptacle for a candle, which can be lit as and when required to keep the food hot.

Available in various designs and styles, trivets are functional yet decorative. Traditional trivets were metallic. However, modern day trivets are made from wood, fabric, ceramic, brass, black iron, etc.
